Donna Haswell (Dip. Couns. MBACP)

My experience as a counsellor began working for a charity helping vulnerable women. I have worked with young people age 18+ to older adults covering many issues, including; childhood trauma and abuse, bereavement, loss, self esteem, anxiety, depression, coercive control, coming to terms with physical and mental health diagnosis.

I have a background in horticulture, I love being in nature and have experienced and studied the therapeutic benefits of this. I have a wide variety of lived experience from travelling and working in Europe as a young adult to raising two children to menopause. In the bits in between, life as it does, has thrown in its fair share of highs and lows around me, issues such as; anxiety, parenting ADHD, ASD, Cancer scares, Loss and bereavement, teens questioning gender identity, operations and pain. I got to a very low point 20 years ago, I wish i had found counselling then but it took a few years to find my way.

Through my years of training and own therapy, ( yes counsellors see counsellors – we know it works! ) various voluntary positions within a diverse range of communities, and all the above I came to a decision that my purpose was to help others connect to their true self and live life more fully, to offer hope and compassion in overcoming adversity.
